What is recorded here
According to an index of the Civil Survey (1654-6 there was a mill at Kilcavan in 1640 (Simington 1953, 163), which would probably have been owned by the FitzHarris family. Its precise location is not known, but the designation ‘Old Mill’ attached to part of Kilcavan suggests that it may have been located there.
