What is recorded here
Mill Island rises above the Kings River as a detached seven-bay six-storey flour mill built around 1800. Its L-shaped stone frame, slate hanging and boarded sash windows still mark the industrial pride of County Kilkenny, even though the mill stopped serving the local grain economy. The building stands less like a ruined relic than like a forgotten worker who refused to leave the room.
Mill Island is recorded as a islet in County Kilkenny. Its open map record supplies this location and any linked names or public references.
