Mill

Mill, corn

What is recorded here

According to Bradley et al. (1986 vol. 3, 287), 'In 1621, the earl of Kilkea held a watermill as part of his manor at Kilkea'. This was presumably the corn mill noted in the Civil Survey of 1654 (Simington 1952, 118). According to Fitzgerald (1896-8, 25) the Manor or Black Mill was removed c. 1829'.
