What is recorded here

Close to the seashore near the mouth of Cuan Chasla. Known locally as Toit Chonáin (pers. comm. T. Robinson), it consists of a roughly circular grassed-over mound (D 13.5m, H 2.4m) composed of shells, principally periwinkle and limpet. This may be the 'kitchen-midden' referred to by Kinahan (1872, 10-11) and Brunicardi (1914, 200).
