What is recorded here

At base of an escarpment overlooking Baile an Mhothair, Inis Meáin. Known locally as Réidh na hUanach from legends connected with the natural cave at this spot (Robinson 1980). In 1933, Mac Domhnaill (Topgr. Files, NMI) pinpointed it as being 'cliff dwellings showing traces of kitchen midden at entrance'. Apart from the partly blocked entrance to the natural cave, no visible surface trace survives.
