Discovered during road construction (Excavation Licence No. 94E0075). A rough surface composed of burnt fire cracked stones fused with iron deposits was exposed. Finds recovered from the surface included a sherd of unglazed pottery, flints, slag and a stone with a possible cup mark. Three small pits were excavated which may have been associated with metal working.
