Memorial stone in Unknown Townland

Memorial stone

What is recorded here

Unknown Townland is no longer visible, but the limestone memorial stone still lies flat in the nave floor of St Audeon's medieval parish church. Its worn heraldic shield and Roman inscription suggest that a proud name was once set down for others to read, then foot traffic and time rubbed the edge off the story. The chamber remains open to that lost voice, waiting for someone to stop, crouch, and translate what pride still survives beneath the wear.
