Memorial stone in Unknown Townland

Memorial stone

What is recorded here

Thomas Harvey died in 1677, and his name still cuts through the limestone in the nave of St Audeon's. The rectangular slab holds Roman capitals, sharp enough to mark a life but quiet enough to disappear beneath church traffic. Whatever Harvey did or suffered, the stone refuses to explain. It only points back at him, waiting for someone curious enough to look up from the floor and ask who he was.
