Two limestone tablets carry a 1579 promise that Hugh Brady and Thomas Garvey rebuilt the ruined church, while Nicholas O... paid for the roof. The stone stands on the tower wall rather than inside the sanctuary, exposing the building's changing memory. Its gothic and roman letters still distinguish the names of the men who believed God would not forget their labour.
