Memorial stone

What is recorded here

Standish Hartstonge raised the stone in 1663 for Elizabeth, his wife and daughter of Francis Jermy of Gonnton. Seven of their eleven children still lived when the words were cut, a small triumph recorded in Roman letters. The north transept holds that much of a marriage: love, loss, children naming, and a man proud enough to tell the city.
17th century graveslab in St. Mary's Cathedral (LI005-017015-) described in the Urban Survey of Limerick (Bradley et. al. 1989, 322-3) as following; ‘Wall Memorial. Standish Hartstonge 1663.
