Memorial stone

What is recorded here

Galfrid Arthur, treasurer of Limerick Cathedral, died in 1519 and his limestone memorial still stands in the north transept of St. Mary's. The Gothic letters warn every passer-by to pray a Pater and an Ave before leaving. A dead man's voice, cut into stone five centuries ago, still commands the living to stop and remember.
