What is recorded here

Megalithic tomb, possibly a wedge tomb, stood in Ballybriest during the Neolithic or Bronze Age before destruction removed its stones. Men may have carried dead into that wedge-shaped chamber while others watched the horizon, believing stone could hold breath and memory. Nothing visible remains beside the lost ground itself, yet the field still carries the shape of what it swallowed.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as MEGALITHIC TOMB, possibly WEDGE TOMB (destroyed). Recorded period: NEO/B.A.; PREHISTORIC. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

Wedge tomb, dating to the Late Neolithic or Early Bronze Age (c. 2500–1500 BCE). Its partial destruction limits understanding of its original form and regional significance.
