Leaba-na-glaise in Shallee, County Clare, may have hidden a dolmen before the land claimed it back. A shattered skull and leg bones surfaced there, though no one now knows exactly where they emerged. The dead may have waited beneath ordinary soil, waiting for boots or curiosity to break the seal.

This record is for a possible megalith in Shallee townland. Borlase (1897, vol. 1, 81) reports ‘In the townland of Shallee, and Parish of Kilnamona, is a place called Leaba-na-glaise. Here may have been a dolmen. In some MS. “Notes” lent to me by Miss M. Stokes, reference is made to “human remains, a skull much shattered, and leg bones having been found here.”’ The location of these remains is unknown.
