Megalithic tomb in Tullyskeherny (drumahaire By.). Fuaghnan (1943) described an east-west chamber about seven feet by five, with two stones at the west, four at the east and one at each side. The chamber may have held bodies, markers or memory for people who walked past the road beside it.

Fuaghnan (1943) describes a megalithic tomb at Tullyskeherny which does not quite correspond to the known monuments in this townland, but which is undoubtedly one of them. It was c. 20m from a road and he describes it as an E-W chamber “7 feet by 5 (dims c. 2.15m; x 1.5m)” with two stones at the W, four stones at the E and one stone at N and S “4 feet long, 2 feet high and 10 inches thick (dims c. 1.2m; x c. 0.25m; H 0.6m)”.

A megalithic tomb, likely dating to the Neolithic period, representing an early form of communal burial practice in the region. Its significance lies in contributing to the understanding of prehistoric settlement and ritual in western Ireland.
