MEGALITHIC TOMB in Mobuy

MEGALITHIC TOMB

What is recorded here

Megalithic tomb in Mobuy, County Derry: ancient stones still standing where human hands first arranged them. The PREHISTORIC date and tomb kind leave the rest to imagination, but the chamber shape and surviving stones suggest people gathered there to mark death, memory or renewal. Whatever they believed, they trusted stone to outlast flesh, and the field still holds that confidence.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as MEGALITHIC TOMB. Recorded period: PREHISTORIC. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
