MEGALITHIC TOMB? in Glenmakeeran

MEGALITHIC TOMB?

What is recorded here

Yes. The chamber tomb at Glenmakeeran has stood since the stone age, when people buried their dead beneath heavy lifted rock. It is not a modern build or a decorative feature. Human hands arranged those stones before written history existed. The chamber still points to that old act of caring for the dead.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as MEGALITHIC TOMB?. Recorded period: PREHISTORIC. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
