What is recorded here
Enclosure and underground passages in Duncarbit, County Antrim. A rath was destroyed there, but the holes and hidden paths remained. People may have lived above, fled below, or simply forgotten which part was yours. The ground keeps that much.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as ENCLOSURE (destroyed rath) & Man-made underground passages. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
