Megalithic tomb in Derrydonnell More

Megalithic tomb

What is recorded here

Derrydonnell More in County Galway holds an unclassified megalithic tomb, meaning even the survey leaves its exact shape and purpose unfinished. The moor keeps its own counsel, hiding stones beneath heather or scattering them across the land until they disappear. Whatever the chamber contained, it stopped belonging to people long before it stopped belonging to memory.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
