Megalithic structure in Tawnaghbaun (ballynahinch By.)

On a low, exposed headland on W side of Cashel Bay. The monument consists of a rectangular chamber (L c. 1.7m, Wth c. 0.6m, H 0.3m), aligned E-W, the N wall of which is composed of a natural rock shelf. The chamber is open at both ends and is roofed by a single capstone, partly cracked. Possibly a cist (Gibbons and Higgins 1988d, 64) but the remains are insufficient to allow for a definite classification.
