What is recorded here

Medieval Derry convent, possibly Augustinian, stood beside the old Foyle monastery before the walled city covered or replaced it. London colonists may have worshipped in its surviving church while building Derry, carrying prayer and power into a new stone grid. The convent is not marked on a modern map, but it is buried in the birth of the city: religious life first, military walls second.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as MEDIEVAL CONVENT (unlocated). Recorded period: MED/L.MED. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
