Mass-rock in Unknown,eshcloghfin

Located on a S-facing slope of Eschloghfin Hill and in the valley of a mountain stream with a NW-SE section of it c. 100m to the SW. The location is known as Poll an Aifrinn – the hollow of the Mass, and the fragments of the mass rock were reconstituted in 2000 after damage by forestry works. It is a slab (dims 1.33m x 0.96m; T 0.1-0.13m) now displayed on a masonry pier, and the top of the stone is 0.85-1.05m above the sloping ground and facing S. It is in a clearing in a coniferous forest, and a wide path (L c. 350m) leads S and SE to a forestry road. Mass was also said in the valley between Eschloghfin and Bragan c. 700m to the N where a priest is said to have been killed and where there is a commemorative cross.
