A mass rock traditionally used for the secret celebration of Catholic Mass during periods of religious persecution; such sites were often associated with local saints or priests and became focal points of spiritual resistance. No specific saint or cure is recorded for this site, but it reflects the broader Gaelic Catholic tradition of clandestine worship in Ireland.
