Brockagh, County Tyrone, Ireland, is the birthplace of Mary Angeline Teresa McCrory, who founded the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm to advocate for impoverished elderly people. She was baptized Brigid Teresa McCrory on January 21, 1893, in the Townland of Clintycracken near the ruins of Mountjoy Castle. Her life moved from Ireland to Scotland, France, and the United States, where she continued caring for destitute aged people until her death in Germantown, New York, on January 21, 1984.
