Marshalstown Bridge

Hump-backed road bridge (Wth 7.61m; long axis N-S), over River Funshion. Bridge built with limestone detail. Four segmental arches with dressed limestone voussoirs; two centre arches span c. 6.7m and arches on either side span c. 4.2m. Niches under arches to support centring during construction. Piers of ashlar limestone, project on upstream side (E) to form bluntly pointed cutwaters. Cement coping atop parapet wall.
