Mark Clinton was born in Kells, County Meath, on 7 February 1915. He represented Dublin County North from 1969 to 1977 and served as Minister for Agriculture until 1977. The boy who ran for Meath in 1939 grew into the man who shaped Irish farm policy before leaving for Europe.
