Margaret Barrington

Margaret Barrington was born in Malin, County Donegal, on 10 May 1896, the daughter of an RIC sergeant and a sickly mother who pushed her girl toward books instead of hearthwork. That northern edge may have sharpened her later defiance of Dublin decorum, though no record proves it. She left that small coast for colleges, scandals and two marriages, carrying whatever fire Malin gave her into every room she entered.
