Hartnett described a clay-cut throat widening downward inside the ringfort, but water filled it before anyone could explore the dark. The opening has since closed, sealing the passage from human eyes and forgetting its shape. What remains is a hidden wound in the earth, perhaps still breathing beneath the grass.

In SW quadrant of ringfort (CO061-168001-). Hartnett (1939, 232) described opening 'excavated in the clay and gradually widening as it went downwards'; not explored; partially filled with water.
