What is recorded here

Under Fawney grass, a man-made passage and rath wait in darkness. Built during the E.CHRIST.. period, the fort and tunnel suggest people moved through solid earth when stairs or ladders would have failed. Perhaps they carried fire, water, or warning messages beneath the soil. The missing entrance still hides the address, but the chamber remains patient beneath the county.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as Man-made underground passage & RATH: FAWNEY FORT. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
