County Mayo, Ireland: A stone-lined depression, 4.4m long and 2.4m wide, lies inside a ringfort, possibly the collapsed remains of a man-made underground passage. Whether people walked beneath that fort in darkness or stone simply fell and made a hollow, the margin still invites foot traffic and imagination.
