What is recorded here

There is now no visible trace of the Man-made underground passage situated on a very gentle N facing slope c. 75m W of Tobernamoodane village and overlooking Short Strand to NW. It consisted of 2 chambers which were discovered when an overlying mound was levelled (local information). The porthole slab which spanned the entrance between the 2 chambers has been preserved. This is a semi-circular stone with a semi-circular aperture neatly cut from the straight side to form a low arch, .4m wide at base and .26m high. The above description is derived from J.
