Thirty centimetres of earth and stone block the throat of a passage that once swallowed whole bodies. Someone laid flat slabs in neat courses and set three lintels across the dark, building a room beneath the pasture rather than a hole. The rath stands seventy metres north, its purpose clear, but this hidden chamber belongs to no catalogue and no map. Perhaps it stored grain, perhaps it hid people, perhaps it was simply a joke the land agreed to keep. The infill came later, maybe deliberately, as if the builders decided the passage had spoken enough and should stop repeating itself.

This Man-made underground passage, not marked on the OS maps, is located on a small rise in rough pasture about 70m SE of a rath (KE080-005----). Access is through a small opening, .6m x .25m, from which the passage appears to extend to NE. Its side-walls are built of horizontal courses of flat slabs and three lintels are visible.
