Man-made underground passage in Tallaght

Tallaght is said to have an underground passage connecting two churches, though no one now knows where it opens or which churches it touched. The claim comes from local tradition recorded by Handcock in 1899, not from a marked entrance or recovered tunnel. It may have been a ritual way of moving between sacred places, or a memory sharpened into legend. Either way, the town keeps a hole in its own history, waiting for someone to dig around the right stones.
