Man-made underground passage in Shanlaragh — Report the wrong picture

Shanlaragh holds a man-made tunnel inside its ringfort, yet no surface trace remains for anyone to point at. Local memory insists the passage existed before forgetting erased its entrance. The earth kept the shape of human hands while witness departed, leaving behind a hole that can only be imagined.

In ringfort (094-04401) a "tunnel" was discovered some time ago accordingto local information. No surface trace noted. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
