Man-made underground passage in Reaghan

Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

No one knows when the tunnel was dug or who walked it at midnight. It vanished without a ridge, a broken stone or even a shadow in the grass. Reaghan keeps its own counsel, and perhaps that is why the place still feels alive.
According to local information, a 'tunnel' (possible Man-made underground passage) in the interior of the rath (GA117-087----)lead to another rath (GA116-109----) a few fields away to the NW. No visible surface trace of it survives. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 18 June 2019

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
