Man-made underground passage in Rathkenny

Man-made underground passage

What is recorded here

Under Rathkenny, local tradition claims a man-made passage waits beneath the soil. No public record confirms the claim, but people still point to the ground as though certainty lived there. The absence of proof does not kill the image; it sharpens the temptation to dig.
There is no mention of a possible Man-made underground passage in the published entry for the rath (KE021-085----) (see Toal 1995, 195, no. 776). However, from the information on the cover sheet for this Man-made underground passage record in the SMR file, the source would appear to be 'based on local tradition'.
