Muck rock, Muck rock, the chamber was seven feet long and three feet wide when Broker measured it in 1937. A private owner removed every stone in 1924, leaving only two hollows in the north-west quadrant of the ringfort. The passage disappeared not through collapse but through choice, erasing a room people had built beneath the ground.

In ringfort (8559). Broker (1937, 50) recorded 'passage' and stone-built 'underground chamber', '7 feet long, 3 feet wide and 4 feet high'. He also mentioned three flag stones on ground and two similar stones at entrance to chamber. All stones 'removed by owner in 1924'. Two hollows in NW quadrant now indicate location of Man-made underground passage. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
