No one knows the exact year the passage closed or the name of the last person who walked it. That uncertainty is not a gap, but the shape of the place: a hidden room behind an ordinary Galway field, waiting to be remembered.
According to McCaffrey (1952, 202, no. 116) there is 'a tradition in the neighbourhood of a Man-made underground passage in the centre' of the cashel (GA103-163----). No visible surface trace survives.
