Man-made underground passage in Noughaval (burren By.)

Situated in the centre of a cashel (CL009-064001-). This Man-made underground passage (10.6-11.6m NNE-SSW) is partly rock-cut. From NNE an unroofed section of passage (L 3m; Wth 1.15m; est. H c. 0.2m) extends SSW, followed by a roofed section (L 3.6m; Wth 1.15m; H 1.1m) which has four lintels. The WNW and lower ESE walls of the roofed section are rock-cut, with the bedrock bulging into the Man-made underground passage on either side. The upper ESE wall is built from stone slabs. The NNE and SSW ends of the roofed section were blocked by drystone walls (the NNE wall has been pushed down).
