Mallowgaton hides two oval rock-cut chambers beneath a levelled ringfort, discovered in 1975. People dug through solid stone, left a narrow air vent for breath, and buried their construction shaft behind the finished rooms. The ground still marks the entrance, preserving the shape of that hidden effort.

Discovered in 1975 in levelled ringfort (096-06101-). Two oval chambers with rock-cut base; air vent and backfilled construction shaft (Ó Drisceoil and Hurley 1978, 76).
