Under the southeast quadrant of a West Cork ringfort, at least three chambers and a stepped passage wait in darkness. A beehive-shaped stone structure still covers the entrance, marking the hole where human hands dug through solid earth. The ringfort interior has since choked under overgrowth, hiding the passage from casual sight but not from memory.

In SE quadrant of ringfort (CO121-014001-). McCarthy (1977, 370) records at least three chambers and passage with stepped entrance. According to O'Leary (1975, 12) the entrace is covered by a cloghaun-type structure 'built of stone and shaped like a beehive'. Interior of ringfort inaccessible due to overgrowth.
