Lisclogher rath large hides an L-shaped trench, thirteen metres long and five and a half metres across its shorter leg, cut into the western bank. The angles suggest human hands rather than water, perhaps a passage now collapsed or buried beneath soil and forgetting. If it remained open, it would have breathed darkness into the rath, a secret route for people who wanted to disappear into the earth.

Situated within Lisclogher rath large (CV023-031001-). A large L-shaped depression with the longer leg (L 13m; Wth 2.3m) aligned NNE-SSW and the other (L 5.5m; Wth 2.2m) running NNW-SSE occurs inside the bank at WSW and may indicate the site of a Man-made underground passage.
