Knockrour hides a man-made passage beneath a ringfort, yet no entrance or marker remains visible today. Mr. O'Leary told Hartnett in 1939 that a cave exists there, preserving a warning that the ground itself may be hollow. The missing opening suggests people once cut through solid earth, then disappeared or stopped using the route. What they hidden beneath the ringfort still waits patient and unfindable.
