What is recorded here

Knockrour is a man-made underground passage hidden inside the north-west rampart of a ringfort in County Cork. Local tradition still claims the tunnel exists although no surface trace remains visible. The passage may have let people leave the fort during a siege or carried water through the earth.

In ringfort (8444). Hartnett (1939, 67) noted that 'there are indications, confirmed by local tradition, that there was a Man-made underground passage inside the rampart at the NW'.
