Knocknaneirk holds a man-made underground passage in the southern half of its ringfort, though collapse has hidden the entrance. The ground itself has forgotten the shape of the tunnel, leaving only a small depressed area where stone and soil gave way. Whatever chamber or route was built there has returned part of its structure to the earth, preserving the idea of the passage while removing the ability to walk it.
