What is recorded here

Knockmanagh holds a blocked underground passage cutting northwest from a hut site nested inside a larger rath. The narrow opening, barely wide enough for a crouching person,-disappears beneath the west wall, suggesting deliberate construction rather than accidental collapse. Stones now seal the entrance, preserving the mystery but denying the descent. Whatever purpose it served, the makers valued hidden movement beneath the land, and the seal keeps that intention safe from careless curiosity.

In a hut site (KE067-009002-) which is within a rath (KE067-009----). An opening (Wth 0.85m; H 0.55m) under the internal face of the W wall of the hut site leads underground in a NW direction. The opening has been blocked with stones for safety reasons and the Man-made underground passage is inaccessible.
