Knockglass holds a timber-covered underground passage beside a levelled ringfort, waiting for someone brave enough to stop pretending the ground is empty. That is the kind of place where ordinary tools break, cameras forget to record, and people leave before answering questions. It is not there to be admired from a distance. It is there to test whether you still believe every mystery must have a visible explanation.

According to local information, 'underground passage covered in timber' was found in early 1980s during land reclamation immediately S of levelled ringfort (8426) and Man-made underground passage (8908). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
