Half-buried in a field fence above the River Laney valley, the dolmen keeps its chamber narrow enough for one person to crawl through. Its displaced roofstone still rests across the gallery like a lid someone forgot to replace. The fence has since gone, leaving the ancient stones exposed on the sloping ground.
On gentle SW-facing slope overlooking River Laney valley to W. Monument incorporated in field fence comprises E end of gallery (L estimated 4.2m; Wth 0.55m at E end) aligned ENE-WSW, represented by three opposing sidestones to N and S and backstone outside gallery walls at E end; four outer-wall stones along N side of gallery and two to S at E end. Displaced roofstone rests above gallery. Traces of low mound around structure merges with fence to W. Field fence removed subsequent to site inspection. (deValera and O Nualláin 1982, 15-6, Co. 20)

Portal dolmen; likely dates to the Neolithic period. Its partial integration into a field fence suggests long-term local reuse and provides insight into early megalithic architecture in the region.
