Knockaunbaun holds an L-shaped hollow twenty metres long and one metre deep, perhaps the collapsed remains of a man-made underground passage. The missing tunnel may have twisted through solid earth before falling inward, dragging its roof and walls into the dark. A person could have crawled through that hidden chamber, listening to water or breathing in dust, then vanished behind a wall that no longer stands.

In the W sector of the interior of a rath (GA116-066----). An L-shaped hollow (L c. 20m; Wth 2.5m; D 1m) may mark the site of a collapsed Man-made underground passage.
