Kilkinnikin East still hides a man-made passage beneath its ringfort, marked only by two shallow depressions, one at the centre and one near the southern bank. People may have dug through solid earth to reach water, store grain or escape danger, while others may have walked below during storms when the land above became unusuable. The passage no longer shows a entrance, yet the hollow shapes preserve the effort of hands that moved soil in darkness.

In ringfort (CO127-009001-); two depressions, one central and one close to S bank, indicate presence of Man-made underground passage.
