Man-made underground passage in Gortyarrigan

There is no surface evidence of this Man-made underground passage, uncovered during ploughing c. 50 years ago. It was alleged to have been of drystone construction roofed with flagstones and consisted of 2 connected chambers. It is situated in a grazing field sloping to the S and overlooking Lough Swilly to the W. The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.
